Too True Tuesday - Getting My Cheap On

I think this post is right on for Essie The Accidental Mommy's TTT for today, Getting Your Cheap On.

How I get my cheap on:
  • refilling fancy shampoo bottles with less expensive shampoo
  • washing out zip lock baggies and reusing them (not every time, but I do)
  • the majority of our clothes come from yard sales or Good Will and if I am going to purchase something at the department store their sale has to be dead on for what I would pay at GW or I walk
  • it gets worse because I have now progressed to trying to only buy clothes that are half off at GW, the color tag system, I start at the GW in the fancy neighborhood because they have the best stuff and then I work my way through the other GW's in a 15 mile radius
  • I cut the one pound of hamburger meat in half and freeze it separately and use only half in my sauce or soup (I realized we don't need the whole pound for the sauce or soup to be good and no one here has noticed)
  • I buy the store cereal in put it in the "real" box, once the Hubs throw out the real box and I will be honest my reaction was not pretty
  • rip paper towels in half to save on how many we use
  • water down the juice to save how much we use, my kids do not like real juice they say it taste funny because they are so used to watered down juice
  • buy the family size yogurt and put it in the little cups
I will add to this list as the day goes on if I think of more.  It is all second nature now and my secrets are just my way of doing things so I am probably leaving something out.

Hee hee, those are good ones! I "cut" the juice too and now Teena can't stand any juice that is regular strength!

Not to rain on your parade, but, that's pretty much how I do things, too. Even if I were a millionaire, I'd probably still be 'thrifty', since I just can't believe in paying full price and wasting things! LOL As you say, it's a way of life. It's a good thing. :)
