Miss M’s weekly progress report for this week reads as follows:
“Has been caught talking over the teacher or during work time again. She is really behind in work this week. Please go over all worksheets sent home. Thank you!”
Behavior Scores –
Listens Carefully, Outstanding (? How does one listen carefully to an outstanding degree when one is talking over top of the teacher?)
Stays on Task, Satisfactory
Follows Directions, Satisfactory
Treats Others with Respect, Satisfactory
Follows Class Rules, Outstanding (? A major 1st grade rule is no talking during work time. How is talking during work time outstanding behavior?)
Does Her Best Work, Outstanding
The comments sounded like she did better the week before but the scores say she did better the week she was talking over the teacher? That’s a thinker.
These weird-o things that happen all. the. time. are a big reason we decided to pursue testing outside of the school. It is of course the standard testing that our county uses and the school will have to update her IEP accordingly but we won’t wonder what kind of
To whom it may concern:
I am seeking direction as to where to sign up for something or even anything to be easy or even just to go in a normal way regarding my children and myself. Thanking you in advance.

Sounds a lot like GB's report card- is it us?
Hmmm. Maybe it's about 2 different kids.
Here's my BEST advice for you...take those very reports to the Superintendent of the School system and show them and ask them to help you understand how these reports add up? Is there something you're missing or ???? It sounds to me like teachers wanting to pass on kids that shouldn't be moving on. Maybe afraid of having he same child to teach again next year? Anyway, the squeaky wheel, as they say...take it to the top!
I take school reports and toss them in the trash when it comes to those in regard to kids like this. The kids are not benefiting from this stuff. They learn how to play the game and of course they can be just perfect in school. Both the teacher and the kid are going to make you as parents look like the ones who are a little nuts.
2 different teachers, maybe she is multiple personality...
