Follow Up - It's Not the Stork

Remember this post a few days ago?

Well the Universe is obviously out to get me because after enduring 'The Talk' the book arrived Monday - 3 days later. I am glad to report that it is a hit!
Mr. C said, "This is my favorite book you ever got me. It tells me everything I wanted to know." I am not surprised that my little brainiac is an aspiring M.D. but I wasn't envisioning gynecology as his specialty of choice.

The book arrives and he digs right in.  Notice the shipping paper on the couch behind him.

Why yes he did take the book outside with him to continue on in his reading.  You guessed right again that is sperm and egg caricatures that go on to become a zygote.

This book really does tell them the whole story.  It covers other issues too like all kinds of different families and okay touch and not okay touch.  Big Sis who is 10 was just as interested in the book and took her turn at reading it as well.  She did not feel that the labeling of body parts was appropriate.  I said, "well if no one tells a 6 and 7 year old what the names of those parts are how would they know?"  She said, "still".

So there you have the Loo Loo review.  The 7 year old is ready to head off to medical school, the 10 year old doesn't approve of the books complete honesty and the 6 year old took one look at the book and was not interested.  She moved on to her leapster.

Aw - Viv sounds like a little momma! :) How did you like the book? I think I may look into that...Serena would probably find it interesting, but it sounds like Kylie may have Miss M's reaction at this point...but it may come in handy when she gets a little older. Have you ever gotten C a human body book (age-appropriate)? Serena loved those at his age, too - one of them came with a skeleton you could put together and cover in a dome...I'll have to see if I can find it and send it to you.

Yes my big girl is definately a little momma!

I will have to look into a human body book. We have books about the human body but they don't sound like what you are describing. He would love that!

around here there was just such a conversation last week, the boys have a prety good sense of how it all works... but as we discussed breast feeding Fudge pipes up with - oh I had hair in my mouth all the time - in his little mind both men and woman have hairy chests... I giggled and corrected him but I will remember that one for later.

*snort* hair in the mouth LOL!!!!

Hmmm, my daughters are 4 and 6 and the 6 is a very young 6. That book might be too much for her right now, even if the pictures are cute.

I think I will keep trying to avoid and change the subject.

Essie, good plan! Dr. C was determined to have the info and have it now. My oldest learned a lot through animals. And my 6 year old has trouble processing information so I think we have a little while with her, YES!
